Mong Kok is a densely-populated region located in West Kowloon. It consists of residential areas with both new and old buildings, shopping centers and numerous restaurants. Therefore, the authors included a picture of old-fashioned apartments viewing from corridors and the masses on crossroads.
The photographer did grasp some of the valuable features of Mong Kok in terms of entertainment. For example, Tung Choi Street, is also known as "Ladies' Street" since the shops are all selling female goods such as cosmetic products or clothings; Fa Hui Park, which has a flower market inside are famous for selling different types of flowers in an economic price; Sai Yeung Choi Street South had a pedestrian zone for busking such as using a mouth to write brush calligraphy, mass dance or singing performance.
To conclude, this photo essay does seize most of the special features in Mong Kok but it is not comprehensive in terms of entertaining and environmental issues.
